There are two main types of dental veneers: Porcelain and Composite.
Porcelain veneers are done over two appointments, first the teeth are prepared by shaving a very small amount of enamel from the front surface of the tooth and an impression is taken to be sent to our Melbourne based dental lab , temporary veneers are made and a tooth shade is taken. Then we will have you back in two weeks’ time to remove the temporary veneers and place your porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers will not discolour like normal teeth or composite veneers and last longer.
Composite veneers are done in one appointment, similar to porcelain veneers the front of the tooth surface is prepared for bonding of composite resin (same as a filling material), and the composite is used to mask discolouration’s, modify shapes and alignment of teeth to create an instant new smile.
